IIT Kharagpur invites applications from the Indian Nationals for the following post:
Hindi Officer : 1 Post (UR-01)
Pay Band : Rs.15600-39100/- (PB-3) + Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- and allowances as admissible.
Qualification : Master’s degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized University or equivalent in
Hindi with English as a subject at the degree level OR Master’s degree with at least 55% marks from a
recognized University or equivalent in English in any subject with Hindi and English as a subject at the
degree level OR Master’s degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized University or equivalent in
any subject with Hindi medium & English as a subject at the degree level OR Master’s degree with at
least 55% marks from a recognized University or equivalent in any subject with English medium and
Hindi as a subject at the degree level.
Experience : 8 (eight) years experience of terminological work in Hindi and translation work from
English to Hindi or vice-versa, technical or scientific literature out of which 5 years should be in a
supervisory capacity OR eight years experience of Teaching, Research, Writing or Journalism in Hindi.
Desirable : i) Knowledge of Sanskrit and / or a Modern Indian Language ii) Administrative Experience
iii) Experience of organizing Hindi classes or workshop for noting and drafting.
General Information:
1. Reservation for ST/SC/OBC/PH/Ex-Serviceman as per Central Govt. Rules.
2. Persons employed in Government / Semi Government Organizations / Autonomous Bodies
should submit their applications through proper channel.
3. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University / Institute.
4. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for interview. The
decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. No correspondence will be entertained from
the candidates in connection with the process of selection / interview. Canvassing in any
manner would entail disqualification of the candidature.
5. The candidates should be preferably below 35 years of age
6. Experience prescribed may be relaxed in the case of exceptionally meritorious candidates
7. The Institute reserves the right to call only the requisite number of candidates for interview after

the last date are liable to be rejected.
