Advertisement No. 1/ 2009 Dated : 08.04.2009 Fresh applications on the prescribed form are invited for the following posts by 23.05.2009 Higher initial start may be given to the candidates possessing exceptional qualifications and experience. It is not obligatory on the part of the University to call for interview every candidate who possesses the essential qualifications and no representation in this regard will be entertained from any candidate. 1. Registrar, Aligarh Muslim University (1) Scale of Pay : Rs. 16400-22400 plus allowances (Pre-revised) Qualifications : Essential : (i) A Master's Degree with atleast 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. (ii) At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer (Sr. Scale) / Lecturer with 8 years in Reader's Grade along with experience in educational administration. OR Comprabale experience in Research establishment and / or other institution of higher education.
15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar of an equivalent post. Desirable : The candidates are expected to have considerable experience in : a) Designing of Agenda and drafting of the minutes of the various University authorities, as the Registrar is the Secretary of University Court; Executive Council and Academic Councils. b) Handling legal matters as the Registrar has to represent the University in suits or proceedings by or against the University, sign power of attorney and verify pleadings: c) Exercising close and effective supervision, monitoring and implementation of policy decisions. Candidates are also expected to have knowledge of modern methods of management and their applicationin in an Institutuin of higher education and research. OTHER CONDITIONS: Appointment of the Registrar shall be made for a tenure of five years which can be renewed for similar terms by the Executive Council. Appointment to the post of Registrar may also be made on deputation. 2. Controller of Examinations, Aligarh Muslim University (1) Scale of Pay : Rs. 16400-22400 plus allowances (Pre-revised) QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL : 1. A Master's degree with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. 2. At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer (Sr.Scale)/ Lecturer with eight years in Reader's grade alongwith experience in educational administration including examinations. OR Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education. OR 15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years as Deputy Controller or an equivalent post. OTHER CONDITIONS : Appointment will be made for a tenure of five years which may be renewed for similar terms by the Executive Council. Appointment to the post of Controller of Examinations may also be made on deputation.3. Finance Officer, Aligarh Muslim University (1) Scale of Pay : Rs. 16400-22400 plus allowances (Pre-revised) QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL : 1. A Master's degree with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. 2. At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer (Sr.Scale) /Lecturer with eight years in Reader's grade alongwith experience in educational administration including finance and accounts. OR Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education.
OR 15 years of administrative experience of which 8 years as Deputy Finance Officer or an equivalent post. OTHER CONDITIONS : Appointment will be made for a tenure of five years which may be renewed for similar term by the Executive Council. Appointment to the post of Finance Officer may also be made on deputation from the departments like (i) Indian Audit & Accounts Service; (ii) Indian Postal Accounts Service; (iii) Indian Railways Accounts Service and (iv) Defence Accounts Services.4. University Librarian, Maulana Azad Library (1) Scale of pay : Rs.16400-22400 plus allowances (Pre-revised) QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL : 1. Master's degree in library science/information science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record; 2. At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a university library or eighteen years' experience as a College Librarian. 3. Evidence of innovative library service and organisation of published work.
